BlackOak Coin Roadmap

The BlackOak roadmap is designed to keep the project grounded. Each phase should produce something visible:
  • source
  • binaries
  • hashes
  • nodes
  • documentation
  • community infrastructure
No roadmap item should be treated as complete until it has a public artifact.

Phase 0 — Identity and Chain Parameters

Status: In progress
  • Finalize name, ticker, symbol, and denomination language.
  • Publish the BlackOak visual identity.
  • Confirm code-safe ticker usage: OAK.
  • Confirm display usage: ØAK and Ø.
  • Lock the project tagline: Rooted in scarcity. Deployed with discipline.
  • Prepare the public ANN thread and forum structure.
Phase 1 — Core Build

Status: In progress
  • Maintain the Bitcoin Core-derived source tree.
  • Confirm daemon and CLI naming convention:
  • Build and test on macOS first.
  • Create a deterministic local build checklist.
  • Record compiler, dependency, and platform versions.
Phase 2 — Cross-Platform Wallets

Status: Planned
  • Build Windows wallet.
  • Build Linux wallet.
  • Validate data directory behavior.
  • Verify wallet encryption.
  • Publish SHA256 checksums.
  • Publish signatures where available.
  • Publish release notes for each platform.
Phase 3 — Genesis and Test Network

Status: Planned
  • Finalize genesis timestamp text.
  • Mine and document the genesis block.
  • Publish:
    • genesis hash
    • merkle root
    • nonce
    • nTime
    • nBits
    • chain parameters
  • Run test nodes before public mainnet release.
Phase 4 — Public Network Services

Status: Planned
  • Bring seed nodes online.
  • Publish node connection instructions.
  • Launch hosted block explorer.
  • Launch hosted mining pool if viable.
  • Publish peer and sync status.
  • Maintain a public node status page.
Phase 5 — DevOps and Community

Status: Planned
  • Open DevOps forum.
  • Publish node hardening guides.
  • Publish wallet backup guides.
  • Publish mining setup notes.
  • Add developer documentation.
  • Maintain release-change discipline.
Phase 6 — External Relations

Status: Future
  • B2B infrastructure conversations.
  • Explorer indexing partnerships.
  • Pool operator outreach.
  • Exchange discussions only after network stability.
  • No listing promises before working public infrastructure.
BlackOak moves forward only when the chain, code, and community infrastructure can support the claim.
